Bubble Egg Austin Review

We were super excited to try out bubble waffles from Bubble Egg . Although a lot of other boba places also sell bubble waffles I was especially interested in trying it from Bubble Egg.  They claim to use the original Hong Hong recipe for egg waffles so I was hoping for a more authentic experience. A bubble waffle is a exactly what it sounds like, a special egg waffle made in a bubble shaped iron. Like any other waffle they can be both sweet or savory and can be customized with a variety fillings and toppings. Photo from Bubble Egg website Since we were in the area we tried the Austin location which is right by the University of Texas campus. That obviously means you need to figure out paid street parking if you go Monday through Saturday. We went on a Sunday so street parking was free.  When we walked in, there were only a few people ahead of us but it took a really long time before it was our turn to order. I noticed that they only had 3 waffle irons so I decided to only orde...

Olive & June Mani System Review

As a mother of three, one of the main things that is always on short supply is my time. So whenever I come across something that promises to save me time I feel compelled to try it out. I really bought into the idea of Olive & June during the pandemic because it promised to deliver a professional manicure experience in the comfort of your own home. This would save both time and money compared to having to drive to a nail salon. The ads for Olive and June were particularly attractive to me because of the poppy that was regularly featured. The poppy is a tool that pops on the top of the nail brush to make it easier to control when using your non dominant hand.  After reading through a bunch of reviews and checking out their site. I decided to try out their mani system that includes all the items shown below.  I also added on their dry drops that promise to dry your polish in 80 seconds! What could be better? The mani set can either include one nail color or six, and of cours...

Bannor Toys are a safety hazard

I first heard about Bannor Toys a couple years ago on Instagram when they collaborated with another baby brand  I follow. I instantly fell in love with Bannor because everything about the company aligned perfectly with all my tastes. They seemed like such a sweet little small business making delightfully adorable "heirloom quality" wooden toys. What was there not to like? I patiently stalked their page and even participated in many of their giveaways and finally went ahead and placed an order when they ran a promotion for black Friday I ordered their rattle and roll suv baby rattle and personalized it with my son's birth stats and also received a free baby teether. When they finally arrived the items looked adorable and I was super happy with them. However due to the weight and shape of the rattle my son couldn't really hold or play with it til he was closer to 6 months old. I noticed right away that it was quite a flawed design for a baby rattle, it would only rattl...

Is Snack Crate worth it?

After months of being relentlessly bombarded with ads, I finally decided to give snack crate a try. I'm usually really good about not buying products off social media but I started to seriously consider it after a momma friend mentioned how much her children really looked forward to learning about a new country each month and of course trying out all the new snacks! So when I found a 50% off coupon for the first month I knew I had to go for it. Snack Crate is a monthly subscription service international snack box. Each month's box is stocked with snacks from a different country. The box also includes interesting details about each snack and about the featured country. I loved the idea right away because what better way to combat pandemic cabin fever?   I told my little ones all about it and even let them watch a few unboxing videos on youtube so they were pretty excited about it and couldn't wait for us to receive our first box. The first box was from Germany and arrived ve...

IKEA TARVA Hack - Navy & Brass dresser with paintable wall paper

In all our years of being married, we've never had a dresser in  our master bedroom because we could never find the perfect one. My heart was set on a navy and brass horizontal dresser but all the ones I found were too tall, too narrow, too blue, too office-ish... you get the point.  I considered buying a used dresser and repainting it but then I stumbled across a post by Champagne Chaos updating her IKEA Tarva and decided to try it out. Although I'm not a big IKEA fan I was really drawn to the simplicity of this dresser and how it only took a few basic additions to transform the entire look of the dresser. I also preferred this option because the dresser is sold with untreated wood that is ready to paint so I wouldn't have to spend time stripping paint or sanding it first. I followed along with her steps but changed certain things along the way to better suit my taste.  I started out with the list of materials below Before IKEA Tarva dresser (untreated pine) Graha...
